Job summary

Langan seeks a Civil Engineering Practice Lead for its growing national aviation practice. You will lead and expand our aviation offerings, directing technical design and client engagement across landside and airside civil engineering projects.

We require 15+ years of civil engineering experience, a PE, and proven leadership in FAA-related aviation work, with strong business development and mentorship skills. This role supports multiple national projects and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one US State and ability to apply for PE in multiple states.
• Design experience on FAA and airport projects with reputable clients.
• Experience leading staff on aviation projects.
• Experience in business development with project wins.
• Ability to hire, manage, and motivate staff.
• Experience leading all phases of aviation projects: planning to close-out.
• Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continue development of a progressive national aviation practice.
• Build, maintain, and manage client relationships to secure aviation projects nationwide.
• Provide technical lead for civil designs, drawings, specs, and cost estimates for landside and airside works.
• Lead and mentor engineering staff to meet design objectives.
• Assist with talent acquisition to grow the aviation practice.
• Develop and implement market strategies to capture airport projects.
