Job summary

Mead & Hunt invites applications for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to support construction inspection on aviation projects in the Madison, WI area and statewide in Wisconsin. The role starts May/June 2027 and runs through August/September 2027.

The intern will assist engineers, technicians, and surveyors with tasks such as measurements, pay estimates, report preparation, field inspections, and surveying. Travel to sites is frequent.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two college semesters in civil engineering or related field.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks to access airport sites.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites 95–100% of the time.
• Experience with field observations, measurements, and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians, and surveyors on civil aviation projects.
• Perform measurements, quantity calculations, and prepare pay estimates.
• Assist with project reports and field documentation.
• Conduct field inspection and surveying tasks.
• Support technical research and writing as needed.
