Job summary

Garver's Huntsville Aviation Team invites civil engineering students to join as an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern. You will work alongside experienced aviation professionals and gain exposure to airfield pavement design, maintenance, and airport lighting.

This in-office internship includes site visits to hangars, taxiways, and runways and opportunities to assist with proposals and grant applications, supporting your professional growth through Garver Launch.

Qualifications

• Pursuing civil engineering degree from ABET accredited program.
• Interest in pursuing civil engineering in the aviation industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Aviation Civil Engineering Intern

Garver's experienced Aviation Team in Huntsville, AL is seeking a motivated civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern.

Internship Description

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced aviation design professionals and industry leaders.
• Receive training from senior engineers in various elements of airfield pavement design, pavement maintenance, airport lighting, and construction oversight for general aviation and commercial service airports.
• Visit Garver’s Aviation project sites, such as airport hangars, taxiways, and runways.
• Gain experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry by assisting with project administration, submitting proposals, and grant applications.

Requirements

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
