Garver's Aviation Team in Overland Park, KS is seeking a motivated civil engineering student to join our team as an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern, training under experienced professionals.

This in‑office internship covers airfield pavement design, airport lighting, and construction oversight, with site visits to hangars, taxiways and runways, plus exposure to proposals, grants, and professional development through the Garver Launch Program.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
• Interest in pursuing civil engineering in the aviation industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Aviation Civil Engineering Intern

Garver's experienced Aviation Team in Overland Park, KS is seeking a motivated civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern.

Internship Description

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced aviation design professionals and industry leaders.
• Receive training from senior engineers in various elements of airfield pavement design, pavement maintenance, airport lighting, and construction oversight for general aviation and commercial service airports.
• Visit Garver’s Aviation project sites, such as airport hangars, taxiways, and runways.
• Gain experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry by assisting with project administration, submitting proposals, and grant applications.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work‑related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
