Job summary

Passero Associates' Charlotte, NC office is seeking a paid Aviation Civil Engineer Co-op/Intern to support our aviation team on airport planning, design and infrastructure projects. You will work on runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and landside facilities using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Interest in aviation engineering and airport design.

• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and design of airport infrastructure projects (runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, landside facilities).
• Support preparation of engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Perform field investigations, site inspections, and data collection at airport facilities.
• Assist with FAA grant-funded projects and airport improvement programs.

• Coordinate with project teams and support deliverables through design and construction.

This role offers hands-on experience supporting projects at commercial, general aviation, and military airports while utilizing the latest industry technologies, including drones, 3D visualization, and virtual reality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and landside facilities

Qualifications / Experience

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Interest in aviation engineering, airport design, and transportation infrastructure
• Immediate availability and/or availability through 2027
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred
• Previous civil engineering co-op, internship, or aviation-related experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to visit active airport and construction project sites as needed
