AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineer for our Airport Engineering Team in Nashville, TN. This entry-level position offers mentorship and hands-on experience on airport infrastructure projects.

You will assist with pavement, runway, and taxiway design, perform calculations and cost estimates, and prepare drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D while ensuring FAA and local compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university.
• 0-2 years of professional experience in a related field.
• Strong skills in stormwater and drainage design, geometric design, construction documentation, and teamwork.

Job description

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineer to join our Airport Engineering Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Nashville, TN .

Your Role

• Assist with the design of airport pavements, runways, taxiways, and airside/landside infrastructure.
• Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates for airport improvement projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility design calculations.
• Support preparation of technical reports, specifications, and basis of design reports.
• Conduct site visits and construction inspections to monitor project progress.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including transportation, structural, electrical, mechanical, architectural, and environmental engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with FAA regulations, airport design standards, and local requirements and assist with FAA grant and airport improvement program documentation.

About You

• EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Completion of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
• SPECIAL SKILLS: AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater and drainage design, geometric design, construction documentation, communication and teamwork .
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: E.I. or E.I.T. (preferred) or ability to sit and obtain within 6 months

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $75,000 - $85,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
