Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Inc. is seeking a Baggage Handling Agent to load/unload luggage, operate handling equipment, and route bags through the airport efficiently and safely.

You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented aviation environment, requiring attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow security and safety procedures under varying weather conditions. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including use of tablets, computers, and mobile devices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers in person and electronically.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload passenger luggage and cargo on and off aircraft.
• Operate baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts, carts, and trolleys.
• Sort and route baggage to the correct flight and baggage claim carousel.
• Ensure timely delivery of baggage to and from aircraft.
• Inspect baggage for damage or potential security risks and report discrepancies immediately.
• Follow all safety procedures and airport security protocols while handling baggage.
• Work closely with ground crew and airline personnel to ensure efficient baggage processing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in baggage handling areas.
• Coordinate with security personnel to ensure adherence to airport security measures.
• Participate in training sessions on baggage handling procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation.
• Coordinate with airline staff for special handling of oversized, fragile, or priority items.
• Record and report baggage handling activities in accordance with company and airport regulations.
• Support and promote the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives.
• Report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with SMS reporting procedures.
• Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
