Job summary

RTX is seeking an assembler for Rockford, IL to assemble, inspect and repair sub- and final assemblies for aircraft turbine systems. You will follow strict route cards, read JIS and drawings, and maintain documentation. The role requires basic materials handling, quality control and use of inspection equipment.

The position offers 2nd shift with training on 1st or 2nd shift and provides medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO, tuition reimbursement and other benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: Airplane and Power (A&P) license.
• Experience with hand tools.
• Experience with calibration and/or maintenance.
• Previous experience in aviation or aerospace assembly.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, inspect, disassemble, reassemble, safety wire, mark parts, paint and repair sub and final assemblies.
• Maintain quality stamp authority and complete required documentation.
• Follow instructions per route card, JIS, drawings or work orders.
• Develop knowledge to troubleshoot units and improve methods.
• Operate and maintain machinery, tooling and gauges including brazing and soldering.
• Use inspection equipment for visual and dimensional checks against blueprints and specs.
• Verify tests and calibrations; ensure current job instructions are used.
