Aviation Account Manager - Power & Avionics

Job summary

ZimZee Recruiting seeks an Account Manager for our aviation client in Wichita, KS. You will drive business development and support growth across aviation OEM, commercial, and defense markets, building strong customer relationships and leading proposals and contract negotiations.

The ideal candidate has direct aviation sales experience, sharp commercial judgment, and the ability to understand and communicate technical avionics and power solutions to customers and program partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of direct aviation sales experience.
• Exposure to aviation electrical and avionics systems is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop customer relationships and deliver high-level service.
• Strong negotiation and project/program management skills.
• Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to support customer needs and events.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is preferred; aviation certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Generate leads and develop relationships with customers to advance opportunities.
• Research market opportunities, trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs.
• Create and deliver sales presentations and lead development of proposals, RFPs, and compliance matrices.
• Lead negotiation, administration, and execution of long-term contracts and partnerships.
• Serve as primary contact for program partners and coordinate customer needs.
• Develop technical knowledge of lithium-ion battery tech, power conversion, and avionics systems.
• Represent the organization at industry trade shows and customer meetings.
