Job summary

University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking an Academic Advisor to provide proactive advising and build trusting relationships with students. You will support undergraduate degree-seeking students with placement, major choices, course selection, degree planning, and university policies.

The role is part of the UAA Student Advising team within the Office of Academic Affairs and collaborates with aviation students. A passion for student success and excellent customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, proactive advising to undergraduate students.
• Assist with major choice, course selection, degree planning, and university policies.
• Connect students to networks of academic support, career coaching and guidance, and student life opportunities.
