Job summary

Abacus Technology is seeking an Avaya Switch Technician to repair, program, and maintain Avaya switches for the Joint Base Charleston. This full-time role requires hands-on experience with Avaya CM6, G450 gateways, and VoIP systems across Navy facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years inside plant support for telephone or telecommunication systems.
• Security+ certification is required; Avaya certifications preferred.
• Must be a US citizen with a current Secret clearance and able to obtain government access.

Responsibilities

• Maintain O&M of the Avaya S8710 CM6 switch and related configurations.
• Install and program G450 gateways and perform firmware upgrades.
• Troubleshoot Cisco/Avaya VoIP networks and support VLANs across facilities.
• Splice, terminate, and test fiber/copper cabling and associated networks.
• Assist with on-site and remote diagnostics to ensure service continuity.
