Job description

Join Our Team

Devis is a leading provider of innovative software development, management, and consulting services, specializing in cutting‑edge technologies such as DevSecOps, AI, and Machine Learning. With over 30 years of experience, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner for government agencies, delivering tailored, mission‑critical solutions that drive digital transformation and operational excellence. Our client‑centric approach, coupled with our deep domain expertise and technical prowess, enables us to forge enduring relationships and consistently deliver high‑impact, adaptive solutions that resonate with the unique needs of the public sector.

The Role

This is the senior audiovisual and video teleconferencing seat on the helpdesk team supporting a federal agency. You are the technical authority for AV and VTC across headquarters and the field, and the person the agency relies on when a public hearing or an executive town hall has to go off without incident. You are the senior member of a small AV team: a mid‑level specialist works alongside you, a production engineer owns system design and hands‑on production, and an event coordinator plans and directs event production. The role combines hands‑on senior technical support with enterprise AV/VTC technical oversight, sustainment, lifecycle management, and technical direction.

The agency runs Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, and Slack for video conferencing and collaboration, with Cisco and Poly platforms in its conference and AV rooms. Headquarters is in Washington, DC, with 53 field offices nationwide; about 2,100 people rely on these systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the AV/VTC service desk: intake, tracking, and resolution of support requests from staff at any agency location, escalating outside the team only when a fix needs resources beyond it
  • Work major live and hybrid events alongside the production engineer: town halls, executive meetings, training sessions, webcasts, and conferences, covering switching, mixing, recording, streaming, and open and closed captioning as the event demands
  • Run public address setups with multiple microphone and line‑level sources, public displays for live, recorded, and VTC video, and computer display feeds
  • Operate and support Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and Poly RealPresence sessions, including webinars and breakout rooms, coordinating connections across locations and monitoring quality throughout
  • Own sustainment and lifecycle management of the installed AV/VTC environment, review system performance and replacement priorities, and provide technical oversight for new designs and integrations performed with the Production Engineer
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance: inspections, firmware updates, codec troubleshooting, and lifecycle planning
  • Evaluate field office AV and VTC needs remotely and document systems well enough that another technician can support them
What You’ll Need
  • Ten years supporting enterprise AV and VTC operations at comparable scale (the agency runs about 2,100 users across headquarters and 53 field offices)
  • Experience supporting AV and VTC across a nationwide, multi‑office footprint
  • A track record as the senior technical resource on live executive or public‑facing events
  • Depth across the full stack: switching, mixing consoles, DSPs, control systems, projection, LED displays, cameras, codecs, AV‑over‑IP, streaming, and captioning
  • Working fluency with Cisco and Poly room platforms and the major meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom, Webex, Poly RealPresence)
Nice to Have
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS‑D, or CTS‑I certification
  • Prior support to a federal agency, particularly one with a dispersed field structure
  • Experience supporting congressional or other high‑visibility public hearings
  • Section 508 accessibility experience, particularly captioning and assistive listening
  • ITIL v4 Foundations and experience documenting tickets in Zendesk or a comparable platform
  • Digital signage administration
Location, Schedule, and Logistics
  • Standard schedule is an eight‑hour day scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Occasional weekend work may come up with advance government approval.
  • Live events sometimes land at the edges of the 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. window, so expect early starts or late wraps around major events.
  • On‑site at agency headquarters in Washington, DC (NoMa area, Metro‑accessible). Telework is by exception only and requires government approval.
  • You will work on a government‑furnished laptop. Personal devices cannot connect to the agency network.
  • At least 40 hours per year of paid professional training in your core skill areas, at no cost to you.
  • Occasional travel to agency field offices, event sites, and official events held away from headquarters, reimbursed at federal travel rates.
