Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced AV Technician for an on-site contract role in New York, NY. You will independently operate and maintain conference room AV systems, perform pre‑meeting checks, and coordinate vendor support for high-profile events.

The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting, customer service, and video conferencing skills, with familiarity in platforms like Zoom, Teams, and WebEx. This is a fully onsite contract position in New York.

Qualifications

Corporate AV experience is required.
Exemplary communication and follow-up skills.
Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.
Outstanding customer service and the ability to build relationships with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, repair and manage AV systems and peripherals.
Daily morning checks of conference rooms to ensure readiness for meetings.
Own pre-meeting AV checks for high‑profile events and VIP meetings.
Assist with scheduling AV support for events and meetings.
Troubleshoot, upgrade and/or replace AV components as needed.
Understand AV signal flow and vendor equipment basics.
Coordinate external vendor support when required.
Adhere to standard business practices and SLAs.
Manage AV inventory and communicate issues in real time.
Familiarity with Zoom, Teams, BlueJeans and WebEx.
