  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex AV issues that cannot be resolved by local support technicians.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, and escalation paths for commonly supported AV systems.

Job description

Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie is looking for an experienced AV professional to serve as our company-wide subject matter expert for conference room technology, collaboration systems, and corporate meeting support. This is an enterprise-level role with real ownership — you'll set the standards, lead the projects, support the events, and develop the people who keep our meeting spaces running across 100+ rooms nationwide.

This position requires strong technical judgment, a track record of managing complex AV environments across multiple locations, and the communication skills to work effectively with executives, local support teams, vendors, and construction partners. Travel among company offices and project sites is expected.

Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

AV Standards & Strategy
  • Define and maintain enterprise AV standards across conference rooms, collaboration spaces, training rooms, and event environments — creating a consistent, intuitive experience across all B&G offices.
  • Establish approved equipment configurations by room type, and develop a multiyear lifecycle and equipment-refresh strategy.
  • Evaluate emerging AV and collaboration technologies and recommend adoption based on usability, reliability, and business value.
  • Provide budget recommendations for conference room upgrades, replacements, and new installations.
Conference Room Management
  • Provide technical oversight for more than 100 conference rooms and collaboration spaces across company offices.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of AV-enabled rooms, equipment, warranties, configurations, and anticipated replacement dates.
  • Serve as the technical authority for new conference rooms, office expansions, renovations, and room upgrades — leading design review, vendor coordination, and system acceptance testing.
  • Monitor room performance and support trends to proactively identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
Advanced Support & Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex AV issues that cannot be resolved by local support technicians.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, and escalation paths for commonly supported AV systems.
  • Train and mentor local support technicians on room operation, routine troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
  • Partner with networking, infrastructure, security, and application teams when AV performance depends on other technology systems.
Corporate Meeting & Event Support
  • Serve as the AV technical lead for large and high-visibility corporate meetings held in company conference spaces and external venues.
  • Translate meeting requirements into a complete AV plan — audio, video, display, conferencing, recording, and streaming — and determine when external vendor support is needed.
  • Oversee equipment setup, configuration, and testing; provide or coordinate onsite technical support during critical meetings.
  • Review technical issues following major meetings and apply lessons learned to future setups.
Vendor & Project Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with AV integrators, production companies, and equipment vendors in the markets where B&G operates.
  • Prepare scopes of work, evaluate proposals, coordinate installation activities, and hold vendors accountable for quality, schedule, and documentation.
  • Lead or contribute AV expertise to office openings, expansions, renovations, and technology-refresh projects.
  • Play a key role in the AV design and buildout of a new B&G conference center currently under construction in Birmingham — and serve as its permanent AV operations manager once it opens.
