Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AV Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize enterprise audiovisual and unified communications environments. This individual will serve as a technical lead for conference room technologies, video conferencing systems, and collaboration platforms, ensuring reliable and secure meeting experiences across executive, enterprise, and mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Cisco video conferencing, Crestron control systems, Microsoft Teams integrations, and enterprise AV infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, support, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise audiovisual systems, including conference rooms, executive briefing centers, and collaboration spaces.
• Administer and support Cisco video conferencing infrastructure, including codecs, endpoints, room systems, and call control platforms.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot Crestron control systems, touch panels, and integrated room technologies.
• Manage and optimize AV room performance, ensuring consistent user experience and system reliability across multiple locations.
• Support interoperability between Cisco collaboration platforms and Microsoft Teams environments, including endpoint registration, room configuration, and hybrid meeting functionality.
• Provide advanced support for Microsoft Teams Rooms, Surface Hub devices, wireless presentation systems, and related collaboration technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve complex AV, conferencing, and unified communications issues involving hardware, software, networking, and endpoint integration.
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Infrastructure, Network, and Engineering teams to resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Lead conference room deployments, technology refreshes, upgrades, testing, commissioning, and production rollouts.
• Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying issues and implementing improvements.
• Ensure collaboration environments comply with organizational security, compliance, and operational standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to support teams and serve as an escalation point for complex AV and conferencing issues.
• Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend solutions, and improve meeting room technology experiences.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise AV, video conferencing, unified communications, or collaboration technologies.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Crestron control systems, including programming, configuration, and touch panel development.
• Strong expertise supporting Cisco video conferencing platforms, endpoints, codecs, and collaboration infrastructure.
• Experience integrating and supporting Cisco and Microsoft Teams environments in hybrid collaboration deployments.
• Advanced troubleshooting experience across AV hardware, conferencing systems, networking, and room technologies.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Surface Hub devices, and enterprise collaboration solutions.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and enterprise authentication technologies.
• Experience working in highly regulated, government, healthcare, financial services, or federal environments.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (High Risk) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DSP platforms such as Biamp, QSC, or Shure.
• Familiarity with AV-over-IP technologies and enterprise networking concepts.
• Experience supporting large-scale conference room deployment projects.
• Industry certifications such as Crestron, Cisco Collaboration, CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Microsoft Teams Administrator, or related credentials.
• Experience with room scheduling platforms, digital signage, and workplace technology solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $62.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
