Job summary

Daisy is seeking an experienced Technician or Lead Technician for its Potomac-based branch, serving MoCo, NOVA, DC, and greater metro DC area. You will install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage smart home systems, interpreting blueprints to ensure precise installations.

The role emphasizes leadership, customer service, and ongoing training, with a path from part-time to full-time and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with AV, networking, and smart home technologies.
• Mastery of basic wiring and cabling for low-voltage systems; electrician’s license preferred.
• Ability to configure, calibrate, program, test and troubleshoot systems.
• Proficiency with Control4; Savant, Crestron, and Josh are a plus.
• Industry certifications (CEDIA, AVIXA, manufacturer certifications) preferred.
• Proficiency with Lutron products and installation.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and customer service skills.
• Physically capable of lifting, kneeling, and climbing; clean driving record.

• Perform site setup, rack builds, cabling, and final system acceptance with clients.

• Act as on-site point of contact for clients, designers, builders, and architects.
• Ensure code-compliant, high-performance installations; stay updated on industry trends.
• Mentor junior technicians and manage project elements; maintain tools and vehicle.

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, tech-savvy Technician or Lead Technician for our Potomac-based branch (serving MoCo, NOVA, DC, and broader metro DC area). The successful applicant is service-oriented, client-focused, and proficient at installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage integrated system equipment, devices, and components.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Install, configure, service, and troubleshoot integrated AV, networking, lighting, shading, control, and other home automation systems
• Interpret project blueprints and system schematics to execute installations accurately
• Participate in site setup, rack buildouts, cable/panels/low-voltage terminations (as needed), and final system acceptance with clients
• Maintain remote access, monitoring, and service protocols for deployed systems; proactively support client systems for reliability and serviceability
• Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, designers, builders, and architects
• Ensure clean, code-compliant, and high-performance installations
• Stay up to date on smart home industry trends, new integrations, and automation best practices
• Mentor and lead junior technicians as needed
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in excellent condition
• Deliver service that meets Daisy’s standards for quality, reliability, safety, and professionalism

What You Bring To The Team

• At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience with AV, networking, and smart home technologies
• Mastery of basic wiring/cabling for low-voltage integrated systems (including panels, and junction boxes); electrician’s license preferred
• Ability to perform system configuration, calibration, programming, testing, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency with Control4 systems; experience with Savant, Crestron, Josh is a plus
• Industry certifications (CEDIA, AVIXA, manufacturer certifications, etc.) preferred
• Proficiency with Lutron products and installation
• Positive, customer-focused attitude, professional work ethic, and strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and customer service skills, with the ability to lead projects and mentor others
• Motivated to learn new technologies and processes
• Physically capable of lifting, kneeling, and climbing
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
