Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking an AV Meeting Support Technician to provide on-premises audiovisual, meeting room, and light event production support in a multinational pharmaceutical and biotech environment.

You will set up, operate, and break down spaces, support virtual meetings, and perform preventative maintenance while delivering white-glove service.

This role requires strong communication, teamwork with production and IT staff, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in high-pressure live events.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in audiovisual support, meetings and events.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow including audio, video, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams or Zoom in live environments.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting for AV and IT-related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Onsite setup, support requests, and basic event execution in assigned locations.
  • Operate virtual and hybrid meetings using Teams, Zoom, and webcast platforms.
  • Assist with presenter setup, including mic placement and camera framing.
  • Support day-of events for small and larger hybrid/broadcast productions.
  • Ensure room systems function and troubleshoot connectivity and control systems.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production managers and engineering for seamless events.
  • Log service tickets and update room documentation per SLA.

  • performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid issue resolution across AV-enabled spaces to ensure consistent operational readiness and white-glove service delivery.
  • This position supports both day-to-day meeting room operations and scheduled live event production activities, working closely with production technicians, engineers, and event management staff.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The AV Meeting Support Technician will provide on-premises audiovisual, meeting room, and light event production support for an established multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology environment operating across conference rooms, auditoriums, and hybrid event spaces. theis role is responsible for:

  • setting up, operating, and breaking down conference rooms, auditoriums, and non-standard event spaces to meet customer meeting and event requirements;
  • providing onsite technical support for virtual meetings including Microsoft Teams event and hybrid productions as required; and
  • performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid issue resolution across AV-enabled spaces to ensure consistent operational readiness and white-glove service delivery.
  • This position supports both day-to-day meeting room operations and scheduled live event production activities, working closely with production technicians, engineers, and event management staff.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for all meeting room setup, support requests, and basic event execution needs within assigned locations.
  • Support the setup and operation of virtual and hybrid meetings including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and webcast platforms including audio, video, screen sharing, and participant connectivity.
  • Assist with presenter setup, including microphone placement, confidence monitoring, camera framing, and basic rehearsal support.
  • Support day-of-event execution for small-scale meetings and assist production staff on larger hybrid and broadcast-style events as needed.
  • Ensure end users are fully supported in-room, including troubleshooting connectivity, AV control systems, and presentation systems.
  • Perform full setup and breakdown of conference rooms, auditoriums, and non-standard event spaces based on meeting requirements.
  • Conduct pre-event room checks, including audio, video, control systems, and network connectivity validation.
  • Verify correct operation of room systems including displays, microphones, cameras, DSP systems, control panels, and conferencing endpoints.
  • Ensure all presentation systems laptops, room PCs, switchers, and codec systems are properly configured and tested prior to use.
  • Perform first-line and intermediate troubleshooting of AV systems including audio, video, control, and conferencing technologies.
  • Resolve issues including cable replacements, signal restoration, device resets, firmware-level resets, and endpoint reconfiguration.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks on AV equipment and report deficiencies or recurring failures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, failures, resolutions, and recurring system issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking of AV equipment within assigned spaces.
  • Support updates to room documentation, SOPs, signal flow diagrams, and operational checklists.
  • Log all service tickets, incident reports, and maintenance activities in accordance with SLA requirements.
  • Support identification of equipment lifecycle issues and recommend replacement or upgrade needs through appropriate escalation channels.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team coordination meetings to align production schedules, room usage, and upcoming event requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Production Managers and Engineering staff to support seamless event execution.
  • Support production teams during larger hybrid or broadcast-style events where additional technical coverage is required.
  • Maintain strong communication with Facilities, IT support teams, and client stakeholders as required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in the area of audiovisual support, integration, meetings and events, or another similar field.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow including audio, video, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar virtual meeting platforms in live environments.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills for AV and IT-related systems, including network-connected devices and conferencing endpoints.
  • Ability to interpret AV diagrams, floorplans, and system documentation.
  • Experience working in enterprise or corporate environments with SLA-driven service delivery.
  • Ability to perform physical setup tasks including lifting equipment, cable management, and basic room configuration.
  • Strong customer service skills with a white-glove, high-touch support approach.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure live event situations.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary production team.
Nice-to-have skills
  • Experience supporting auditorium or broadcast-style production environments.
  • Familiarity with control room systems including video switchers, audio DSPs, PTZ camera systems, and playback systems.
  • Experience with enterprise AV platforms such as Crestron, Extron, or similar control systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, VLAN concepts, DHCP/static configuration).
  • Experience supporting hybrid pharmaceutical, corporate, or regulated enterprise environments.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Limited travel is required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
