Job summary

IES is seeking an AV Installer to set up commercial audio/visual systems in various facilities. The role requires knowledge of installation standards, ability to interfacing with clients, and a professional appearance.

Experience with AV tech and construction standards is preferred, and company vehicle driving is required after qualification. Responsibilities include wiring, mounting displays and projectors, setting up conferencing gear, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Formal electronics education preferred
• Some AV installation experience or field service experience
• Experience with video conferencing (Polycom, Tandberg, Cisco, LifeSize) preferred
• Experience in residential AV (home theaters, structured wiring, smart home designs)
• Ability to read schematic diagrams and drawings
• Familiarity with Crestron, Digital Media, Biamp, AMX, Polycom, LifeSize, Video Conferencing/Audio Conferencing platforms

Responsibilities

• AV cable pulling
• Rack building/pre-wire
• Hang projector screens
• Build structure to hang AV equipment with safety standards
• Install speakers
• Install flat panel displays
• Install cameras
• Install ceiling and tabletop microphones
• Solder AV connectors
• Terminate shielded category cable
• Troubleshoot AV system at expert level
• Structured cabling: pulling, terminating, and testing AV cables
• Terminate wiring according to system diagrams
• Work with projectors, video conferencing systems, screen displays, and computer controls
• Rack build-out and craftsmanship
• Provide feedback to improve installation processes
• Other responsibilities as assigned
