Job summary

Stripe in San Francisco seeks an experienced leader to elevate our Audio Visual Events team, delivering on live and virtual events worldwide. This hands-on role drives technology strategy, manages a growing team of producers, operators, and broadcast engineers, and partners with corporate technology and executive stakeholders.

You will develop roadmaps, set standards, mentor staff, travel to offices as needed, and ensure exceptional event experiences across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive AV capabilities for produced and broadcast events; develop roadmaps for 2–3 years.

• Maintain high standards for internal and external events and services.
• Build strong customer relationships and partner with cross-functional teams including Corporate Technology.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders on event technology strategy and performance.
• Set team goals, provide feedback, and manage performance.
• Travel to Stripe offices as needed.

About the team

The AV Events Team at Stripe is tasked with delivering best in class internal events and post production support at Stripe globally (North America, Europe, Asia) with a primary focus on creating, optimizing, delivering and managing: virtual production events, live events, streaming and video on demand content for all office and remote based employees.

What you’ll do

At Stripe, managers grow teams and inspire them to do their best work. We’re looking for a seasoned leader to take our Audio Visual (AV) Events team to the next level. This is a hands-on role that will continually assess the needs of our fellow Stripes, driving efficiencies and services that improve productivity. The ideal candidate will be a proven thought leader in the A/V arena with a strong customer mindset, leadership and communication skills, and experience with supporting the A/V technology for live events at a large, global corporation.

Responsibilities

• Be proactive & knowledgeable on relevant technologies and products; and provide an ongoing forward-looking roadmap for our next 2-3 years’ solutions
• Drive consistent A/V capabilities for produced and broadcast events for our organization, through the creation and distribution of best practices, procedures, and services
• Maintain a high bar for internal events
• Create an atmosphere that fosters high performance and collaboration within the organization that emphasizes teamwork and accountability while rewarding initiative, innovation, discipline and operational excellence
• Develop strong customer relationships, cross functional and internal Corporate Technology relationships. Establish yourself and your team as a trusted advisor/partner
• Continuously manage customer expectations with regular communications and updates on events, technology strategy, performance concerns
• Lead, grow, and mentor skilled AV producers, operators and broadcast engineers
• Set clear goals and directions, and provide regular feedback on team members’ performance
• Travel to our offices as needed

Minimum requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience leading a Global AV Events or Production Team
• Prior experience delivering technical solutions in high growth environments
• Ability to create necessary documentation, knowledge bases, and run books to enhance the execution of the service.
• Experience and comfort interacting with executives and senior leaders
• Working consistently and effectively in a collaborative environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A healthy skepticism for the status quo and an unwillingness to settle
• Experience being a catalyst for positive change in a global organization
• Experience empowering the team and leading with empathy and integrity
• Precise communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred qualifications

• CTS and/or CTS-D certification
• Q-Sys certification
• Dante certification
• Experience with QSC and Crestron programming
• Experience with the design and deployment of large event space
• Experience collaborating and leading both internal and external tent-pole enterprise events.
• Engineering experience and understanding of large event spaces and complex control room and virtual event signal flows and designs.
