AV Design & Engineering Project Specialist
The AV Design & Engineering Project Specialist will serve a vital role in the upgrade and upkeep of classrooms and meetings spaces on UMBC's campus. This position will serve as the primary installation technician and site foreman for in-house audio/visual projects ensuring the proper and safe installation of equipment while also assisting in the training, supervision, and mentorship of AV Installation Student Technicians.
The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has approximately 85 full-time staff members and 100 undergraduate or graduate students who work each day to support the mission of UMBC through the delivery of IT services to the campus. DoIT provides robust, secure IT environments that enable solutions for advancing the UMBC community. The AV Design & Engineering Project Specialist will serve a vital role in the upgrade and upkeep of classrooms and meetings spaces on UMBC's campus. This position will serve as the primary installation technician and site foreman for in-house audio/visual projects ensuring the proper and safe installation of equipment. The Specialist will also assist in the training, supervision, and mentorship of AV Installation Student Technicians to ensure a safe working environment on job sites. Furthermore the Specialist will assist in the project management and design of select projects including classrooms, meeting spaces, and digital signage. The work this role accomplishes will directly impact the quality and efficiency of educational experiences for both instructors and students alike as DoIT continues to improve the Audio/Visual technology on campus.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $66,000 and has over 4 weeks of vacation for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

Salary: $66,000-74,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
