Job summary

DSI Tech, a Cisco Partner, is seeking an Audio-Visual Design Engineer to design and implement innovative AV solutions across multiple projects. The role requires collaboration with several departments and travel up to 50% while primarily working in-office in Ashburn, VA.

Responsibilities include preparing design packages, BOMs, and technical schematics; researching and selecting AV components; and ensuring system performance meets user requirements. Salary range listed: $80,000–$120,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of AV engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• AutoCAD and/or Visio drawing capabilities.
• Audio DSP programming and gain structure knowledge.
• Crestron and Extron nomenclature knowledge.
• Experience designing and supporting medium to large AV projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare AV design packages, inventory equipment, install and verify systems.
• Create floor plans, room and rack elevations, and AV/control diagrams.
• Prepare BOM and provide service estimates for internal review.
• Provide specifications and schematics for AV hardware and network designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturers, vendors, and colleagues on AV system design and implementation.
• Analyze system capabilities with program reports to identify gaps and meet requirements.
• Specialize in DSP, video over IP, networks, and conferencing systems.
• Maintain broad AV knowledge across network, hardware, and software.
