Job summary

Annunciation Orthodox School seeks qualified Auxiliary Programs Dance Instructors to work with children from ages 3 through 6th grade, 2:30–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday. The role supports a flexible program and fosters learning through activity and expression.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamentals of dance in Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop.
• Choreograph a recital piece for each class.
• Lead supervision and organization of students during dance classes.
• Apply youth development principles and respect for diversity.
• Ensure supervision and health/safety standards during activities.
• Provide feedback to parents to support children's success.

Reports to: Director of Auxiliary Programs

Status: Part-time/Hourly

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM, with hours and days assigned based on class schedule and program needs. Additional time may be required for performances.

Responsibilities:

• Teach the fundamentals of dance in one or more of the following genres: Ballet, Jazz, & Hip Hop
• Choreograph a recital piece for each class that incorporates developmentally appropriate skills and techniques
• Prepare students to perform a memorized piece in the culminating spring recital
• Lead the direction, supervision, and organization of students during dance classes
• Apply youth development principles through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, and the involvement and empowerment of youth
• Act as a positive role mod el for students through professional attitude and behavior
• Ensure students are actively supervised at all times
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities
• Build relationships with students and families who participate in the Auxiliary Program
• Provide parents with appropriate feedback and information to support their children’s success
• Ensure the proper use, care, and maintenance of equip ment and facilities
• Actively participate in all program areas and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
