Job summary

City of Novi is seeking an Auxiliary Firefighter to support the Fire Department. You will work 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, and weekends, responding to emergencies and performing service work as required.

Applicants must meet Michigan Fire Fighter I & II, EMT, HazMat certifications, pass CPAT and NIMS tests, and reside within 40 miles of Novi. A union contract governs this position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess Michigan Fire Fighter I & II certifications, Michigan EMT license, and HazMat Awareness/Operations.
• Candidates must live within 40 miles of City of Novi and pass CPAT/NIMS exams.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests and emergencies including storms, medical, fires.
• Work 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Perform service work and other duties as assigned by the department.
