As an Auxiliary Firefighter you will work a 12-hour shift covering the City days, nights and/or weekends, responding to requests for service and emergencies such as storms, medical emergencies, fires, and performing service work as needed. The position works well for those looking for work outside of the traditional 9-to-5 hours.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Michigan Driver's License and a safe driving record, possess the Michigan Fire Fighter I & II certifications, a Michigan EMT license, and Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Certification. Candidates must also be able to pass the CPAT and NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800.
