Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Grossing Autopsy Technician to provide pathology support in the Autopsy Suite, performing gross dissections, documenting macroscopic features, and differentiating normal from abnormal tissue under supervision of Pathologists' Assistants. The role includes morgue duties and maintaining strict safety and protocol adherence.

The position requires driving accuracy in specimen description, proper handling of tissues, and collaboration with clinical teams to support diagnosis

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program.
• Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Grossing specimens: describe macroscopic features and document dimensions and appearance.
• Differentiate normal from abnormal tissue during gross autopsy dissection.
• Perform morgue duties and back-up administrative tasks as needed.
• Maintain safety protocols and inventory in the Autopsy Suite.
