Job summary

General Motors in Sunnyvale is seeking a highly analytical engineer to drive AV evaluation and validation across the end-to-end ML stack. You will own the execution, improve evaluation methodologies, and communicate insights that build confidence in performance using simulation and on-road data.

Work with AI/ML engineers, simulation and systems engineers, and data partners to design scalable test frameworks, metrics, and evidence needed for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field.
• Experience designing or implementing testing, simulation, or evaluation frameworks for complex software/hardware.
• Experience with data-driven metrics, scorecards, coverage measures, or regression-detection methods.

Responsibilities

• Define AV evaluation and validation processes from concept through implementation, including test-framework requirements and evidence for confidence in system performance.
• Design scalable testing and simulation frameworks for test generation, execution, data collection, result aggregation, and reproducible analysis.
• Provide hands-on implementation of infrastructure and data solutions to assess confidence in AV performance using simulation and on-road data.
• Develop methods to evaluate simulation validity, sim-to-real correlation, and predictive value of simulation results.
• Proactively scope metrics, sampling approaches, and analytical methods to improve evaluation workflows.
• Communicate insights, summaries, limitations, and recommendations to engineers and leaders based on continuous analysis.
