Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a seasoned Autonomy Engineer to design, integrate, and implement system capabilities across surface, underground, and construction domains within the Site Technology ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience leading system requirements development and architecture across multi-team environments.
• Understanding of industry trends, regulatory considerations, and operational constraints in CI/RI.
• Ability to recognize and resolve complex system, organizational, or process problems using engineering judgment.
• Hands-on experience with application and system development tools and modeling approaches for large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to systems engineering activities across site, machine, and technology domains.
• Develop and maintain system-level requirements, interfaces, and documentation for surface, operator, asset, material, safety, and optimization domains.
• Participate in architecture design, validation activities, and trade studies.
• Support creation and maintenance of system engineering artifacts for site solutions (mining, quarry, construction).
• Collaborate with industry teams to implement solutions aligned with common interfaces and guidance.
• Lead and participate in technical reviews and governance forums, applying senior judgment.
