Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL is seeking engineers to develop, integrate and validate autonomous mining truck systems. You will perform System Integration & Validation in a virtual mine, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with software, systems and testing teams to deliver safe, reliable autonomous solutions.
Experience in Linux, SIL testing, and data-driven problem solving is essential, with up to 10% travel and a 2nd shift requirement.
Qualifications
- Experience with autonomous vehicle, robotics or mining automation systems.
- Understanding of path planning, perception, positioning, and machine control.
- Experience in Linux environments and SIL/testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and system-level issues using data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Execute system integration and validation for autonomous mining truck systems.
- Test in scalability lab and SIL environments to verify safety and performance.
- Develop and evaluate autonomy software for perception, positioning, and control.
- Analyze data to identify root causes and improve system performance.
- Collaborate across software, systems and validation teams worldwide.
