Responsibilities

1. Research, develop, design, and validate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic hardware and control logic for large mining haul trucks and autonomous mining trucks.

Levels

Level 1

• Develop mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems for mining trucks.
• Perform system calculations and simulations.
• Create schematic representations of systems.
• Interface with other disciplines to create control system specifications.
• Write software or use model-based design techniques.
• Develop detailed test requests for component and system validation.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Participate in the Engineering Development Program.

Level 2

• Proficiency in Level 1 skills plus research electric and hydraulic components.

Level 3

• Proficiency in Level 2 skills plus research to optimize system designs, specify control components, and estimate development costs.

Level 4 (Senior)

• Proficiency in Level 3 skills plus mentoring, design review, and approval responsibilities.

Competencies

Education and Experience

• Levels 1-4 require relevant degrees and years of electrical engineering experience as specified.

Technical Skills

• Modeling, schematic creation, data analysis, programming, and control wiring abilities, varying by level.

Additional Requirements

• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• MSHA certification.
