Job summary

REGENT Craft Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II, Sensor Fusion & Autonomy, to design and integrate perception systems for Seagliders. You will prototype sensor solutions, validate with simulations and sea trials, and drive production-ready software across flight and hydrodynamic domains.

The role requires hands-on development in Python and C/C++, SLAM and state estimation expertise, and collaboration with GNC, perception, and systems teams to deliver robust autonomous capabilities.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year in Aviation, Aerospace, Robotics, Automotive, or software field.
• 1 year Python coding experience required.
• 1 year C/C++ experience required.
• 1 year debugging distributed vehicle software systems.
• 1 year sensor selection, evaluation, and integration.
• 1 year in SLAM, state estimation, and autonomy concepts.
• 1 year experience with publish-subscribe messaging architectures.
• 1 year experience in autonomy system design including path planning and interfaces.
• 1 year experience in multi-modal sensor fusion and perception algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and integrate a perception system for seagliders.
• Spearhead rapid prototyping and sensor evaluations for perception systems.
• Integrate multi-modal sensors to ensure robust situational awareness.
• Architect and deploy robust software build environments for production avionics.
• Lead data collection to drive software design improvements.
• Use high-fidelity simulations and live sea trials for validation.
• Act as SME for state estimation across engineering disciplines.
• Own critical aspects of prototype development and oversee production craft validation.
