Job summary

REGENT is developing Seagliders, wing-in-ground-effect aircraft for coastal transportation. This role leads test infrastructure and field validation for the vehicle's perception system, managing both on-water sensor operations and onshore integration tooling.

Run perception field tests, deploy software to vehicle hardware, and extend HIL/data-replay tooling while monitoring reliability. Design autonomy test scenarios and validate new algorithms with the test team.

Qualifications

• Experience in robotics, autonomy, or perception software with hands-on HIL or data-replay work.
• Field deployment experience, preferably on boats or surrogate vessels.
• Experience testing software on real hardware from code review through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Run perception field tests: define objectives, set up and calibrate sensor rigs, and execute sensor validation on surrogate vessels with the test and operations team
• Perform hands-on integration work to deploy software changes onto vehicle hardware and troubleshoot failures across all supported platforms
• Operate and extend hardware-in-the-loop and data-replay infrastructure, building on existing recording and evaluation tooling
• Track and maintain perception system reliability across all platforms and review changes for readiness progression from bench to replay to surrogate vessel to production vehicle
• Design autonomy test scenarios to validate new autonomy algorithms and execute them with the test team
