Job summary

Waabi seeks a rigorous systems engineer to build the evidence behind behavior verification for autonomous transportation. You will define scenarios, establish validity checks, and gate what enters the release pipeline to ensure safe on-road performance.

You will turn requirements into testable criteria, analyze deficiencies, and coordinate with motion planning, simulation, evaluation, and safety teams to close gaps and improve fidelity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Software Eng, Electrical Eng, CS, Robotics, Advanced Controls, Aerospace).

Responsibilities

• Design and document scenario and test sets for on-road behavior performance.
• Own release pipeline inputs: define and run scenario validity checks and approve/refuse test sets.
• Maintain quality feedback for artifacts test sets depend on—scenarios, taggers, graders, taxonomy.
• Turn behavior requirements into testable criteria with targets and acceptance criteria.
• Investigate behavior deficiencies and return to pipeline as test escapes.
• Distinguish genuine failures from simulation artifacts and raise fidelity gaps across teams.
• Collaborate across motion planning, simulation, evaluation, operations, safety methodology and platform.
• Align verification cadence with what runs on daily releases vs major steps.
