Job summary
Scientific Systems Company, Inc. is seeking an Autonomy Research Engineer 2 to conduct collaborative research, data analyses, and software engineering under supervision, advancing mission autonomy through predictive simulation and planning under uncertainty.
The role requires strong programming in MATLAB/C++/Python, experience with AI/ML libraries, simulation environments, and the ability to obtain/maintain a US DOD security clearance. A hybrid work model is offered.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar; or equivalent experience with 3+ years, or Master’s degree with 1+ years in related field.
- Advanced experience in research software development with MATLAB/C++/Python.
- Experience with AI/ML/Autonomy software libraries.
- Experience with simulation, development and deployment environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assigned or collaborative research, data analyses, and/or software engineering activities supporting technical objectives.
- Support business development by creating technical proposal content and supporting data analyses under guidance.
- Document and communicate technical results, key findings, and takeaways to internal audiences.
- Contribute to publications as needed.
