Job summary

May Mobility is seeking Autonomous Release Engineers to own releases across the autonomy software stack, integrate sensor and middleware components, and ensure safety gating for real-world deployment.

This hands-on, systems‑oriented role requires strong technical judgment and a builder’s mindset, with collaboration across autonomy, infrastructure, engineering and validation teams. You will build tooling and dashboards, and contribute to release documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years in software engineering, release engineering, systems engineering, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Python; Bash scripting and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Git and branching strategies; SQL or data querying.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Release ownership and execution across major autonomy releases, incremental/performance releases, and hotfix/safety patches.
• Manage branching strategy, versioning, and release cut processes.
• Drive release readiness and go/no-go decisions in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
• Design, build, and maintain internal tooling to support dashboards, health checks, simulation corpora, and release metrics.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues arising from software/hardware interactions and distributed systems.
• Develop understanding of sensor stack, middleware, autonomy stack, compute platforms and networking.
• Enforce stage-gated release framework from Feature Complete to Release Candidate.
• Integrate and interpret validation signals including simulation results and vehicle testing.
• Ensure safety-critical issues are identified and gated appropriately.
• Identify opportunities to improve system robustness, performance, and scalability and build tooling.
• Support autonomy engineers in integrating components with May system.
• Contribute to knowledge base, runbooks and release documentation.
