Job summary

May Mobility, based in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking an Autonomous Release Engineer to own and optimize autonomy releases. You will build tooling, validate signals, and ensure safety and reliability across simulation and real-world testing.

You will collaborate with autonomy, infrastructure, engineering, validation, and operations teams to scale releases while maintaining safety standards. Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in software/release engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Python; comfortable with Bash and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with SQL and data querying; Git and version control experience.

Responsibilities

• Release ownership and execution across major autonomy releases, incremental/performance releases, and hotfix/safety patches.
• Manage branching strategy, versioning, and release cut processes.
• Drive release readiness and go/no-go decisions with cross-functional teams.
• Design, build, and maintain internal tooling to support release readiness dashboards, health checks, and metrics.
• Investigate and resolve issues from software/hardware interactions and simulation vs on-road discrepancies.
• Develop understanding of sensor stack, autonomy stack, compute platforms, networking, and vehicle configurations.
• Enforce stage-gated release framework: Feature Complete → Code Freeze → Validation → Release Candidate.
