Job summary

May Mobility is seeking an Engineering Manager for Prediction on the Behavior team in Ann Arbor, MI. You will lead a team that blends machine learning and robotics, building multi-agent prediction on the MPDM platform while aligning with safety and scalability goals.

You will partner with Behavior, Modeling, Perception and Remote Assistance to drive architecture roadmaps, mentor engineers, and deliver robust prediction systems across the fleet.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading technical teams or project teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in robotics, CS, or mechanical engineering.
• Strong leadership and ability to lead and manage a team of 5+ people.
• Mentor technical team members and grow their skills.
• Experience cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and partners.
• Experience delivering projects with high uncertainty on time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Data-driven and able to drive metrics/KPIs.
• Advanced knowledge of Jira and Jira reporting.
• Proficiency with BI tools (AWS QuickSight, Tableau) for dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Guide the evolution of intent and prediction architectures, balancing classical robotics with data-driven ML approaches.
• Partner cross-functionally with Behavior, Modeling, Perception, and Remote Assistance teams to maintain roadmaps.
• Integrate safety metrics, risk assessments, and ODD requirements into milestones.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and tooling teams to accelerate iteration cycles.
• Incorporate RCAs into the backlog and provide engineering escalation support.
• Enforce code quality standards and design reviews, ensuring ownership of deliverables.
• Grow, onboard, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
