You will partner with engineering, operations, and infrastructure to shape technical direction, improve iteration speed, and ensure safety, quality, and reliability are embedded.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing technical teams or leading projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience mentoring technical team members and collaborating across engineering and operations.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Autonomy Engineering Manager - Behavior Prediction and Intent to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will lead the development of behavior prediction and intent capabilities that support autonomous systems in a highly dynamic operating environment. You will partner closely with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams to shape technical direction, improve iteration speed, and ensure safety, quality, and reliability remain embedded in the work. The position also combines hands-on technical leadership with mentoring, process improvement, and support for field issue resolution.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $190,000 – $250,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Guide the development of intent and prediction architectures using robotics and machine learning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architectural roadmaps with strategic goals
• Integrate safety metrics and risk assessments into project milestones
• Work with infrastructure teams to enhance iteration cycles
• Incorporate Root Cause Analyses into team processes and provide engineering support for field issues
• Enforce high code quality standards and conduct thorough design reviews
• Mentor and develop engineering talent through onboarding and continuous learning

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing technical teams or leading projects
• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience managing teams of 5+ and mentoring technical team members
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams
• Track record of delivering projects under uncertainty
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences
• Data-driven mindset with experience managing metrics and KPIs
• Advanced knowledge of Jira and proficiency with BI tools such as AWS QuickSight or Tableau
