Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a motivated GNC/Autonomy Engineering Intern to join our Small Unmanned Systems team in Simi Valley, CA.

This 12-week, onsite program offers hands-on experience with guidance, navigation, and control systems, flight testing, software and hardware development, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast-paced R&D environment. Current students or recent graduates pursuing degrees in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or computer science fields are encouraged to

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field such as aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or CS.
Familiarity with GN&C concepts, flight dynamics, control systems, embedded systems, or robotics.
Interest in aircraft systems and aerospace engineering.

Responsibilities

Assist in design and development of GN&C systems for current and future aircraft projects.
Support system testing, including simulation environments (SIL/HIL) and basic flight test preparations.
Help implement and test basic flight control algorithms under supervision.
Participate in subsystem integration and data analysis activities.
Support engineering documentation and report writing.
Collaborate with engineering and test teams to troubleshoot and validate technical solutions.
Learn and apply engineering processes and tools relevant to flight systems.
