AIRO Group Holdings, Inc. is seeking a visionary Autonomy and Controls Engineering Lead to direct the development of next‑generation intelligent flight software for our advanced UAS platforms.

You will bridge modern control theory with embedded hardware to deliver safe, high‑performance autonomous flight. You will own core flight software such as state estimation, trajectory planning, and stabilization loops, guiding a fast‑moving robotics and firmware team from simulation through real‑world

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of hands-on real-time control/autonomy software experience.
• Expert proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded real-time flight environments.
• Deep mastery of control theory (linear/non-linear), state estimation, and 6-DOF dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and tune classical and non-linear control algorithms for 6-DOF UAS platforms.
• Deliver GPS-denied navigation via multi-sensor fusion (EKF, VIO, factor graphs).
• Integrate and customize flight stacks (PX4, ArduPilot, ROS/ROS 2).
• Lead SIL/HIL simulation campaigns to validate safety-critical software.
• Define hardware-software interfaces and guide cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Mentor and scale a high-performing controls and autonomy team.
