Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a senior autonomy architect to own the end-to-end autonomy product architecture for ground and space systems. You will decompose the system, set interfaces, and drive the technical roadmap toward flight, ensuring coherent alignment across perception, flight software, hardware, GN&C, and simulations.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years developing software or systems for mission/safety critical applications, with architectural ownership.
• 3+ years deploying ML systems to production on resource constrained targets.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end autonomy product architecture across ground and space.
• Define system decomposition, interfaces, and functional allocation.
• Lead architectural decisions and defend them with stakeholders.
• Determine where reasoning executes (orbit vs ground) and design for degraded environments.
• Drive coherence across disciplines and coordinate across ground systems, perception, flight software, hardware, GN&C, and simulation.
• Own embedded AI/ML realization, model architecture, data pipelines, compression, and hardware-aware optimization.
• Build assurance cases for ML in high-consequence systems with V&V practices.
