Job summary

Saronic Technologies, a leader in autonomous maritime systems, seeks a Mission Operations Manager to steward safety across R&D, operations, and missions. You will serve as Designated Person Ashore (DPA), maintain the vessel SMS under IMO ISM Code, and develop ROCSMS aligned with MASS guidance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in maritime safety, marine operations, or vessel safety management.
• Qualified to serve as DPA under the IMO ISM Code.
• Strong knowledge of IMO conventions and USCG/flag state requirements.
• Experience running a maritime safety program with multi-team coordination.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and obtain US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the vessel SMS under IMO ISM Code and support ROCSMS development.
• Advise on compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, COLREGs and DoD requirements.
• Lead risk assessments, field observations, and safe-operational decision-making.
• Coordinate incident investigations and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Provide training and onboarding on maritime safety for operational personnel.
