Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to deploy, validate, and improve autonomous surface vessels. You will join the Test & Evaluation group, focusing on structured testing for product improvements through software and hardware iteration. You will meet deadlines as an individual contributor and as part of a team.

You will plan and execute tests, analyze data, and coordinate across autonomy, software, hardware, and systems teams to ensure mission success and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of hands-on engineering experience (design teams and internships qualify).
• Experience with autonomous systems testing and field operations.
• Knowledge of networking protocols used in autonomous vessels.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of vehicle HW and SW architecture and how the vehicle operates as an integrated system.
• Lead planning and execution of structured field tests for vessel performance pertaining to autonomous navigation, perception, and sensor integration.
• Diagnose and perform real-time troubleshooting of autonomy, networking, and onboard hardware or software during test events.
• Implement solutions for testing, safety of vessel operations, and system robustness.
• Own data logging and telemetry monitoring systems; ensure data integrity for post-test analysis.
• Contribute to RCCA and issue triage workflows after field anomalies and report to review boards.
