Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to deploy, validate, and improve underwater unmanned vessels. You will be part of the Platform Acceptance team, the internal validation arm responsible for commissioning assets into the fleet.

Your work will support project deliverables and ongoing programs, with emphasis on testing, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination. The role requires hands-on engineering, collaboration with autonomy, software, hardware, and systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of hands-on engineering experience (design teams and previous internships qualify)

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep understanding of vehicle HW and SW architecture.
  • Lead planning and execution of structured field tests for autonomous navigation and sensor integration.
  • Diagnose and perform real-time troubleshooting during test events.
  • Implement solutions for testing and safety of vessel operations and system robustness.
  • Own data logging and telemetry monitoring systems; ensure data integrity for post-test analysis.
  • Contribute to RCCA and issue triage workflows after field anomalies.
  • Maintain autonomous vessels and test environments to enhance reliability.
  • Ensure testing aligns with DoD performance, compliance, and safety standards when applicable.
  • Lead planning and execution of test cases to validate software updates and autonomy behaviors.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into test objectives.
  • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop test procedures, checklists, and safety protocols for repeatable, safe operation.
  • Create post-mission reports with detailed logs and analyses.
