Saronic Technologies is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to maintain and repair diesel systems on autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) in Virginia Beach. You will leverage a strong mechanical foundation and electrical troubleshooting skills to support maintenance, repair, and sustainment activities, with opportunities to grow in a defense tech environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers and operators, adherence to safety procedures, and documentation of tasks and parts used.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience in automotive, aerospace, heavy industrial, marine, or related field.
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting: wiring diagrams, multimeters, fault isolation.
• General mechanical maintenance: preventive maintenance, fluids, belts, drivetrains.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and test equipment (scan tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Strong problem-solving and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, wiring issues, and system-level problems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions with manuals and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Inspect and test components and systems to identify problems.
• Support engine-level maintenance including fluids, filters, belts, cooling systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records per quality requirements.
• Follow safety protocols for engines and related equipment.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and operators to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
