Job summary

Motional AD LLC in Las Vegas is seeking an Associate Vehicle Test Specialist to drive autonomous vehicles, perform in-vehicle tests, and report results. You will coach new operators, improve testing efficiency, and uphold safety as a core value in a high-stakes AV environment.

The role requires on-site work in Las Vegas, collaboration with engineering teams, and contributions to data collection and SOPs. Strong English communication and mappings skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Six months of autonomous vehicle experience.
• Clean driving record for the previous 10 years.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 10 years of driving experience.
• Experience as an operator/driver for autonomous vehicles with training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete in-house driving course/examination.
• Able to read maps and know testing areas.
• Willing to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Clear written and verbal English communication.
• Knowledge of Linux and scripting basics; robotics systems familiarity.
• Ability to think logically and remove bias in evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate prototype autonomous vehicles on defined and undefined routes.
• Operate in-vehicle data recording computers and coach others on procedures.
• Use Jira/Confluence to manage testing tickets and document findings.
• Work in a team and maintain cooperative behavior with staff and engineers.
• Provide quality ride service for passengers when applicable.
• Read road signs and comply with site traffic laws.
• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain SOPs for operations and testing.
• Support mapping data collection on predefined routes.
• Train current/new hire testing operators and onboarding.
• Travel domestically as needed.
