Job summary

Motional seeks an AV Test Operator II to support in-vehicle testing with Operations, Testing, Autonomy, Mapping, and System and Vehicle Integration Engineers. You will operate prototype autonomous vehicles on defined and undefined routes, record data, annotate events, and communicate results.

You will mentor Test Operators, ensure safety, manage test plans, and contribute to improving testing efficiency. Strong driving experience, map reading, and proficiency with laptops and GSuite are

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a clean driving record for the previous 10 years.
• A valid driver's license with minimum of ten (10) years driving experience.
• Experience as an Operator/Driver for Autonomous Vehicles with training on safe AV operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate prototype-level Autonomous Vehicles on defined and undefined routes under various conditions.
• Operate in-vehicle data recording computers and annotate data per test plan; provide feedback to engineering.
• Use Jira to manage tasks and update ticket statuses.
• Direct test execution as right-seat operator and communicate vehicle intent; assist teammates.
• Perform daily pre-operations and post-trip inspections; report damage and deploy vehicles.
• Complete accident and incident reports as needed; write basic quality results with timestamps.
• Support global mapping efforts and route verification.
• Assist with training and mentorship of Test Operators.
