Job summary

Waabi in Pittsburgh is seeking a Test Engineer to join our team. You will develop and execute test plans on closed course test tracks and on road, coordinate with engineers, prep test vehicles, and organize schedules while evaluating vehicle performance.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/electrical/robotics, 6 years in test engineering, Linux and Python/MATLAB skills, and willingness to travel. You’ll contribute to safety and performance in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of test engineering or autonomous vehicle development experience.
• Experience with Linux and data logging tools.
• Python or MATLAB for data parsing/analysis.
• Experience leading test campaigns at major proving grounds.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and autonomous vehicle hardware/software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans on closed course tracks and on-road.
• Coordinate with engineers, prep test vehicles, organize test plans and schedules.
• Execute and evaluate test vehicle performance.
• Operate actor vehicles during testing.
• Provide support to the test operations team.
• Generate detailed test reports documenting vehicle performance.
• Maintain safety and organization at the facility.
• Curate test schedules and coordinate testing resources.
• Collaborate with operations to communicate between drivers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Vehicle system inspections and maintenance.
