Job summary

WME Express in Austin, TX is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle Technician to install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on autonomous vehicles. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday with competitive benefits.

You will work with sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and diagnostic equipment, documenting work and collaborating with engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as Automotive EV or vehicle technician.
• Comfortable using mechanical and electrical tools.
• Ability to diagnose vehicle electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install sensors, cameras, wiring harnesses, and vehicle hardware.
• Install and connect computer/compute modules.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
• Perform vehicle retrofits, repairs, and hardware updates.
• Read wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Use multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and hand/power tools.
• Document completed work.
• Work with engineering and operations teams.

The Job

We are hiring an Autonomous Vehicle Technician to install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on autonomous vehicles.

What You’ll Do

• Install sensors, cameras, wiring harnesses, and vehicle hardware
• Install and connect computer/compute modules
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• Perform vehicle retrofits, repairs, and hardware updates
• Read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Use multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and hand/power tools
• Document completed work
• Work with engineering and operations teams

What We’re Looking For

• Automotive, EV, electrical, or vehicle technician experience
• Comfortable with mechanical and electrical tools
• Able to troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working on vehicles for extended periods

A Plus:

• Autonomous or electric vehicle experience
• LiDAR, radar, or camera installation
• Low-voltage or high-voltage electrical experience
• Soldering, crimping, or fabrication skills
