Waymo LLC is seeking a Hybrid Risk Management - Safety Engineer to lead autonomous vehicle product safety across the Waymo Driver platform. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and operations teams to build robust risk assessments, define mitigations, and establish KPIs for field monitoring to ensure safety is maintained at scale.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or 4+ years in safety risk assessments and systems engineering.
• Experience managing product risk for physical products or services.
• Familiarity with ISO 31000/31010 or equivalent standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage autonomous vehicle product safety for safety aspects excluding collision risk.
• Partner with domain experts from systems, hardware, software, and operations to build risk assessments.
• Review proposed mitigations, write requirements and test coverage, and define KPIs for field monitoring.
