Job summary

Wayve is seeking a hands-on Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair a diverse autonomous vehicle fleet in our US operations. You will diagnose faults, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure readiness for demos and events while collaborating with engineering and drivers.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and proactive problem solving in a fast‑paced mobility tech environment.

Qualifications

• Automotive servicing, diagnostics and repairs qualifications required.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician in fleet or automotive service.
• Strong diagnostics using OEM or third‑party equipment.
• Familiar with OEM repair manuals for mechanical/body repairs.
• Proficient with computer systems for maintenance tracking (Word, Excel).
• Comfortable interfacing with engineers, operations staff and drivers.
• Solid workshop safety/compliance knowledge.
• Japan Driving License held for at least 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and servicing on a diverse AV fleet.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Ensure vehicles are ready for demos, investor rides and media events.
• Respond to fleet faults in real-time to get vehicles back on the road.
• Collaborate with Fleet Service Managers, drivers, and Field Engineering.
• Follow workshop safety protocols and maintain compliance.
• Document faults, actions, and parts used in digital systems.
• Provide feedback to improve servicing workflows and documentation.
• Engage with fleet drivers to resolve issues and ensure a positive experience.
